SOLIDARITY MESSAGE TO THE
ASIAN PEASANT COALITION (APC) 2ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The International Association of People’s Lawyers (IAPL) extends its warmest greetings of solidarity to the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) on the occasion of its 2nd General Assembly in Bandung, Indonesia this December 19-21, 2006.

Philippine Peasants and Scientists Launched YORA

On April 17, the Year of Rice Action (YORA) was publicly launched in Nepal and simultaneously commenced in 14 countries in Asia. The inception of YORA is in time for the 50th anniversary of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The YORA theme "Rice is Life and Livelihood! 50 Years of IRRI is Enough!" signifies our strong protest against IRRI and its control in agriculture.

The RESIST Network (Resistance and Solidarity against Agrochem TNCs) is a broad alliance of Philippine-based farmer's organizations, NGOs, scientists, environmental activists, health workers, academes and concerned individuals in opposition to GMOs, hybrid rice, and agrochem TNCs. It promotes and advocates for natural and sustainable farming and pushes for genuine agrarian reform as the foundation of food security and social justice.
