Training on Food Sovereignty and Consultations on Aid Effectiveness

The All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa), Tamil Nadu Women’s Forum and APVVU organizes trainings on food sovereignty and consultations on aid effectiveness in Agriculture and Rural development (ARD) in Nepa and India in September 2011. The event is sponsored by the People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS), in partnership with IBON International’s Reality of Aid Network (RoA), and Better Aid. The ANPFa, TNWF and APVVU is a member of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC).

APC attends the Civil Society Workshop on Carbon Markets

Bangkok, THAILAND – The Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) send participants to the “Civil Society Workshop on Carbon Markets in South East Asia” on October 11-14, 2011 at Chulalongkorn University Campus, Bangkok, Thailand. The event was sponsored by the CDM Watch and Focus on the Global South. It was attended by at least 50 people coming from Cambodia, Hong Kong Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan.

Leaders of APC to join the Climate, Gender and Food Sovereignty Caravan

BANGLADESH – The leaders and representatives of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) coming from the Philippines, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka will join the “Climate, Gender, and Food Sovereignty Caravan” organized by farmer’s movements in Bangladesh: the Bangladesh Krishok Federation (BKF, Peasants federation) and the Bangladesh Kishani Sabha (BKS, peasant women's organization).

ILPS 4th International Assembly, a resounding success

Manila, Philippines - The International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS) successfully held its Fourth International Assembly (4th IA) from July 7 to 9, 2011 held in Manila, Philippines under the theme, “Build a Bright Future! Mobilize the People to Resist Exploitation and Oppression Amidst the Protracted Global Depression, State Terrorism and Wars of Aggression”!

The 4th International Assembly of the ILPS marks a milestone as it celebrates its ten years of existence. It was a resounding success.

ILPS Commission 6 calls to Resist Imperialist-led Global Landgrabbing

Manila, Philippines - The International League of Peoples Struggle (ILPS) Commission 6, Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) organizes the ILPS commission 6 workshop held on July 7 and July 8, 2011 carrying the theme “Agrarian Reform and the Rights of Peasants, Farm Workers and Fisherfolks against Feudal, Semi-feudal and Capitalist Exploitation and Oppression.”

The event was attended by 43 participants from 13 countries namely the Philippines, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Sri Lanka, The Netherlands, USA, Australia, Venezuela, Kenya, Denmark and Pakistan.
