Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC hosts Roundtable Dialogue for Congressman Mariano
DHAKA, Bangladesh – The Bangladesh Bhumiheen Somity (BBS) or Bangladesh Landless Association and the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC), today, calls for the implementation of genuine land reform and the ILO Convention No. 141.
This call came out during the seminar organized by BBS on June 20, 2012 with the theme “Ensure Food Sovereignty and the Landless Peasant Must Identified on Khash Land”. The event is an annual activity of BBS also called ‘Land Rights Day.
On 10 June 2012 Bangladesh Krishok Federation (BKF) and Bangladesh Kishani Sabha (BKS) jointly organized a demonstration and memorandum submission program in Bhurugamari sub-district of Kurigram district.
On 11 June 2012 Bangladesh Krishok Federation and Bangladesh Kishani Sabha Kurigram district committee organized an exchange of views meeting with students and youths in Nageshowary. BKF general secretary Abdul Mannan Azad and BKS general secretary Shipra Rani were special guests in the exchange of views meeting.

The militant peasant group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) today called as “too good to be true” the so-called exemptions on President Aquino’s Executive Order 79 banning mining in prime agricultural lands and fisheries development zones and marine sanctuaries.
Imported rice might deluge the local market and eventually cast a deep dent on local production as a result of the expiration this month of the quantitative restrictions (QRs) on rice that was imposed by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2006, a militant peasants group said on Friday.
