APC Congratulates the Nepali People for the Proclamation of the Federal Democratic Republic

The Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) warmly greets the Nepali people and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and other parties in the Constituents Assembly for abolishing the age-old monarchial bondage and proclaiming the federal democratic republic of Nepal.

We express our highest salutations to the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in winning the most number of seats in the Constituent Assembly. We hope that the people of Nepal and all anti-feudal and democratic forces must ensure further democratic changes under the leadership of the CPN (Maoist) not only through the Constituent Assembly and a new government but more importantly through the mass movement in their country.

We wish the people of Nepal to enjoy true freedom under a federal
democratic republican country. The times of oppression, exploitation,
gender and ethnic discrimination will now come to an end as our comrades from the CPN (Maoist) leads the Nepal in transforming the country to achieve genuine freedom, social justice and economic development.

Farmers all over Asia sincerely believe and hope that with this tremendous
victory, the interests of the peasantry will be advanced by the new
republic – particularly genuine and thoroughgoing land reform. Such
land reform liberates the peasant masses economically, socially and
politically and strengthens the basic alliance of peasants and workers.

APC and its member, All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa), unite
with CPN (Maoist) and other parties in Nepal in the pursuit to end
imperialism and the reactionary forces which had incessantly tormented
the peoples of the world.

We are confident that the people of Nepal are ever ready under the
leadership of the CPN (Maoist) to uphold, defend and promote their
national and democratic rights and interests. They have rich and victorious revolutionary experience of self-reliant struggle. Their cause is just and therefore they enjoy abundant support from the people of the world. Together with our numerous comrades around the world, we will emerge victorious in our struggle for international peace and freedom! ###
