The BBS began its journey from Bogra district, a northern district of Bangladesh, in the Rajshahi Division, on 22nd of March, 1982. After a long struggle, BBS continue its effort to protect the rights of the poor landless farmers in Bangladesh. It aims to establish a just society that will ensure equal rights, benefits and access to land and resources for all. It uphold to recognize those who cultivate are the real owners of the land.
The BBS is a founding member of the APC in March 2003 in Quezon City, Philippines and has attended the APC 1st General Assembly (GA) in 2004 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
