Rationale:
Land means life to Asian peasants and despite several agrarian reform programs implemented by each government in different countries in Asia it failed to address the fundamental problem of peasants which is landlessness. It should be noted that in order to achieve food sovereignty the issues and problems on land, livelihood and resources should be resolve without gender bias. Likewise, direct participation and contribution of rural women is indispensable to put forward these concerns and lead to succeed. This workshop served as an important venue to synergize together rural women’s initiatives and actions towards food sovereignty.
